Its shape looks back to ancient Greek pottery and to an Italian master potter, whose original design Bergs’ potters still honour each time a Helena is moulded.\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\nA scalloped clay fringe runs around the top of the pot. It gives Helena a soft, classic look that suits herbs, roses and anything with a little romance. Each size is slightly wider than it is tall, a steady shape that sits low and settled on a bench or step.\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\nChoose the size to suit your plant. The 14cm suits herbs or a strawberry on a sunny sill. The 18cm is right for ferns, pothos or a potted rosemary on a shelf. The 21cm holds a larger houseplant or a full pot of flowers by the door. Soak the pot in water before planting so the clay doesn’t draw moisture from fresh soil. The terracotta darkens when wet and pales as it dries, so you can see when your plant needs a drink.
