Botanical Name: Rhapis Excelsa.
A very forgiving houseplant. It is hardy and can tolerate low light conditions. it has large, hand-shaped leaves with long, glossy, dark green, finger-like leaflets. The foliage forms a dense canopy above clumps of sturdy stems that are covered with dark brown fibres that have a woven appearance.
|Bright light to a partially shaded position. Avoid direct sunlight.|
|Rhapis like their soil to be moist, avoid letting it dry out and also overwatering it. Water more in summer, less in winter.|
|Apply liquid fertiliser in the warm months to aid in growth.|
| Quite slow-growing, but can grow to 2-3m tall.
