Camellia hybrid ‘Cinnamon Cindy’ is a charming evergreen camellia prized for its fragrant flowers, glossy foliage and naturally bushy growth habit. Unlike many camellias, this variety offers the added bonus of perfume, producing masses of delicate blooms through winter and spring when colour and fragrance are especially welcome in the garden. Its compact, upright form makes it a versatile choice for garden beds, hedging and containers.

From winter into spring, ‘Cinnamon Cindy’ becomes covered in beautiful semi-double to rose-form flowers. The blooms are predominantly white, delicately edged and flushed with soft pink on the outer petals, creating a refined and elegant display. Their sweet fragrance adds another dimension to the garden, attracting pollinators and making this variety particularly appealing near paths, patios and outdoor living spaces. The glossy mid-green foliage remains attractive year-round, providing structure and contrast even when the plant is not flowering.

This camellia develops a dense, upright habit that works well as a feature shrub, informal hedge or container specimen. Its evergreen foliage and prolonged flowering period make it a valuable addition to woodland gardens, shaded courtyards and mixed shrub borders. The fragrant flowers also make excellent additions to floral arrangements.

Mature size: approximately 2–3 metres high × 1.5–2 metres wide

Care & Growing Tips
Plant Camellia ‘Cinnamon Cindy’ in a lightly shaded or part-shade position protected from strong winds and harsh afternoon sun.

Prefers fertile, slightly acidic, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.

Water regularly during establishment and maintain consistent soil moisture during dry periods. Avoid waterlogged conditions.

Apply a quality fertiliser suitable for camellias and other acid-loving plants in spring after flowering and again in mid to late summer if required.

Mulch with around 5cm of quality organic mulch to help retain moisture, suppress weeds and improve soil structure, keeping mulch clear of the trunk.

Prune lightly in early spring or after flowering to maintain shape and encourage dense growth.

Light frost tolerant once established and well suited to cool and temperate Australian gardens.

Ideal for
– Fragrant garden planting
