Mandarin Nagami.
Nagami produce the most elegant teardrop-shaped fruit, which is a taste sensation. Eat the fruit whole for an explosion of citrus in your mouth. The trees are small, bushy and very cold-hardy and ideal for ornamental and container growing. Blossoms late (November) and has deep orange fruit with few seeds, which matures over a long period. The juice is acidic, but the spicy outer rind and sweeter albedo give a pleasant flavour if eaten whole, candied, or in marmalade.
Care
• Plant in a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained soil
• Water regularly during dry periods, especially when fruiting
• Fertilise with a citrus-specific fertiliser in spring and late summer
• Prune in late winter to maintain shape and remove dead or crossing branches
• Protect young trees from frost; established trees tolerate light frosts
• Mulch to retain moisture, keeping mulch away from the trunk
