Banksia Blechnifolia - 20cm Pot

Banksia blechnifolia is a striking, low-growing Australian native known for its dramatic foliage and bold, ground-hugging habit. This prostrate banksia forms a wide, spreading carpet of deeply serrated leaves, creating strong texture and visual interest in the landscape year-round.

In spring, large, eye-catching flower spikes in warm tones of orange and brown emerge from the foliage, adding a unique focal point and attracting nectar-feeding birds, bees and pollinators. Its unusual growth habit and standout blooms make it a true feature plant, despite its low height.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil for best performance. This variety prefers sandy to loamy soils with a neutral to slightly acidic pH. Good drainage is essential for long-term health.

Water regularly while establishing, then reduce, as it becomes drought tolerant once mature. Apply a low-phosphorus native fertiliser in early spring to encourage healthy growth and flowering.

Minimal maintenance is required, making it an excellent choice for low-care gardens. It will tolerate light frost once established.
