Camellia Snow - 18cm Pot

Camellia ‘Snow’ is a distinctive sasanqua camellia, valued for its naturally cascading, weeping habit—something rarely seen in camellias. This graceful variety produces an abundance of double white flowers from early autumn, which may develop a soft blush pink tone as the season progresses, adding gentle variation to its display.

Its trailing growth makes Snow ideal as a groundcover camellia, where it can spill beautifully over retaining walls, rockeries and garden edges. When mass planted, it creates a flowing carpet of evergreen foliage and seasonal blooms.

Best suited to filtered light or part shade, this variety prefers protection from harsh, direct sun, which can cause foliage burn.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in filtered sun to part shade in well-prepared, free-draining soil enriched with organic matter. Dig a hole at least twice the width of the pot and slightly deeper, and consider raised beds in heavier soils to improve drainage.

Position the plant so the top of the potting mix sits level with the surrounding soil. Firm gently, water in well and apply a layer of mulch (approximately 5cm thick), keeping it clear of the trunk, to retain moisture and protect the roots.

Keep soil consistently moist during establishment, which may take several months to a year depending on planting time. Once established, watering can be reduced, though consistent moisture will support best performance.

Prune lightly in early spring if shaping is required—avoid late pruning, as this may reduce autumn flowering. Feed in spring with a quality general-purpose fertiliser, with a second application in mid to late summer if needed.
