Adenanthos Sericeus - 20cm Pot

Adenanthos sericeus, commonly known as Woolly Bush, is a distinctive Australian native shrub admired for its incredibly soft, velvety foliage and shimmering silver-grey colour. Native to the south coast of Western Australia, this plant is best suited to southern Australian gardens with a Mediterranean-style climate, where summers are warm and dry.

The fine, woolly leaves create strong textural contrast in the landscape and make Woolly Bush an excellent feature plant in garden beds, courtyards or large containers. It naturally forms a compact, upright shrub and can grow into a substantial specimen over time. When grown in a large pot, it is sometimes even used as a living Christmas tree thanks to its soft foliage and neat shape.

Small pink flowers may appear in spring and summer, adding subtle seasonal interest without detracting from the foliage, which remains the main attraction year-round.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in a sunny position or light shade in well-drained soil. Woolly Bush tolerates a wide range of soil pH levels, including acidic, neutral and alkaline, but performs best in sandy or loamy soils with excellent drainage. Avoid humid climates and waterlogged conditions. Once established, it is drought tolerant and low maintenance.
Note: the foliage can cause skin sensitivity or allergic reactions in some people, so gloves are recommended when handling or pruning.
