Description
Cercis Canadensis Merlot
Cercis ‘Merlot’ is a great small garden tree with rich purple foliage and an improved branch structure.
Large heart-shaped very glossy foliage that is rich purple to plum in colour. Bright lavender-pink ‘pea’ type flowers appear in spring.
Highly adaptable and tolerant of hotter and drier environments than many other Cercis forms. Will hold its foliage colour longer in the height of summer - foliage may green off in later summer months before autumn colour. The Colour will be at its best in full sun.
Plant in a full sun position in well-draining soil.
It can grow to 3.5 x 4.5m
