Chrysocephalum apiculatum ‘Aussie Reflection™’ is a next-generation native groundcover, bred for resilience, longevity and year-round performance. Unlike traditional “yellow button” wildflowers, this improved variety spreads via stolons and rhizomes, forming a dense, self-repairing mat that helps it recover from tough conditions.

Throughout the warmer months, Aussie Reflection™ produces masses of vibrant golden-yellow button flowers, attracting pollinators and beneficial insects, while its seed provides an additional food source for wildlife.

What sets this variety apart is its ability to bounce back after drought, frost and environmental stress, making it a standout performer where many other wildflowers struggle. With proper conditions, it can persist for several years, far outlasting typical short-lived forms.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun to light shade in well-drained soil. This variety tolerates heat, drought and frost, but should not be planted in areas with prolonged waterlogging.

Water during establishment, then reduce, as it becomes highly drought tolerant. Its spreading root system helps it recover naturally after stress, reshooting from underground growth.

Prune back dead stems as new growth appears after harsh conditions. Tip prune from mid spring to late summer after flowering to encourage repeat blooms and maintain a tidy form.

In humid climates, ensure good airflow and drainage, as prolonged wet conditions may lead to fungal issues.

Ideal for
– Groundcover and mass planting
– Biodiversity and pollinator gardens
– Retaining walls and slopes
– Containers and green roofs
– Low-maintenance, waterwise landscapes
