Eucalyptus Silver Princess - 14cm Pot

Eucalyptus caesia ‘Silver Princess’ is one of Australia’s most elegant ornamental gum trees, prized for its graceful weeping habit and striking seasonal display. Growing to a manageable size, this small tree features arching branches, creating a soft, flowing silhouette ideal for feature planting.

From winter through spring, Silver Princess produces large, showy flowers in shades of pink to red with contrasting yellow stamens, adding vibrant colour when many plants are dormant. These blooms are highly attractive to nectar-feeding birds and pollinators.

Its ornamental appeal continues year-round, with reddish young stems maturing to smooth white branches, and a trunk adorned with decorative peeling bark known as minni-ritchi, adding texture and character to the landscape.

Mature size: approximately 6–8 metres high × 3–4 metres wide

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Silver Princess is adaptable to a wide range of soil types, including sandy, loamy and poorer soils, but good drainage is essential.

Water regularly while establishing, then reduce, as it becomes drought tolerant once mature. This variety performs best in temperate, lower humidity climates and may struggle in areas with high rainfall or humidity.

Minimal pruning is required. Its open canopy allows filtered light to pass through, making it ideal for underplanting with smaller shrubs or groundcovers.
