Eucalyptus torquata, commonly known as the Coral Gum, is a stunning ornamental native tree admired for its vibrant flowers, sculptural buds and decorative gumnuts. This small to medium-sized tree produces spectacular blooms in shades of red, pink, cream and white through spring and summer, creating a brilliant display that stands out in any landscape.

Adding to its appeal are the uniquely textured flower buds and woody seed capsules, which provide year-round visual interest. The nectar-rich flowers attract birds, bees and pollinators, making it an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens.

With its spreading habit and striking appearance, Coral Gum is ideal as a feature tree in larger gardens, open spaces and rural properties.

Mature size: approximately 6–12 metres high × 5–10 metres wide

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Eucalyptus torquata is highly adaptable and tolerates a wide range of soil types, including sandy and poorer soils, provided drainage is good.

Water regularly while establishing, then reduce, as it becomes drought tolerant once mature. This species performs best in dry summer climates and may struggle in areas with high humidity.

Very little maintenance is required. Pruning is generally unnecessary, aside from removing any damaged or unwanted growth.

Ideal for
– Feature tree in gardens and landscapes
– Wildlife and pollinator-friendly planting
– Dry climate and drought-tolerant gardens
– Windbreaks and open spaces
– Adding bold seasonal colour
