Grapefruit Wheeny - 16.5cm Pot

Grapefruit ‘Wheeny’ is a productive and flavour-rich citrus tree, believed to be a natural cross between a grapefruit and a pummelo. It produces large, round fruit with slightly flattened ends and a softly textured pale yellow skin, setting it apart from smoother-skinned varieties.

Cut one open and you’ll find juicy, tangy flesh with a refreshing balance of sweetness and acidity, making it ideal for fresh eating, juicing or breakfast citrus.

This is a heavy-cropping variety, known for its reliable yields and excellent juice content. It also matures earlier than many other grapefruit types, making it particularly well suited to cooler climates.

Mature size: approximately 4 metres high × 3 metres wide
(can be maintained smaller with pruning or grown in large pots)

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil for best fruiting.

Water regularly, especially during establishment and fruit development. Apply mulch to help retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.

Feed with a citrus fertiliser during the growing season to support healthy growth and abundant crops.
