Blood Orange Italian Ippolitto.
Ippolito is an Italian Blood Orange, with really deep red flesh and juice with an exquisite raspberry orange and roses flavour. The Citrus Industry regards Ippolito as the best and most suited Blood Oranges for Australia. Ippolito is a very rewarding citrus tree and is naturally smaller in habit. Growing to no larger than 3 metres, Ippolito is a perfect blood orange for pots and containers, balcony and courtyard gardens and smaller spaces.
Care
• Plant in a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained, fertile soil
• Water regularly during dry periods, especially when fruiting
• Fertilise with a citrus-specific fertiliser in spring and late summer
• Prune in late winter to maintain shape and remove dead or crossing branches
• Protect young trees from frost; established trees tolerate light frosts
• Mulch to retain moisture, keeping mulch away from the trunk
