David Austin Rose Desdemona
Botanical Name: (Auskindling) English Shrub Rose Bred.
Peachy pink buds open to beautiful, white, chalice-shaped blooms, with a pinkish hue. The incurved petals create an arresting interplay of light and shadow. The strong Old Rose fragrance has hints of almond blossom, cucumber and lemon zest. It forms a most attractive neat, rounded, bushy shrub. Named after the tragic heroine of Shakespeare’s Othello.
Care
• Water immediately after planting. Water well until established, particularly during periods of extended heat.
• Plant in Full Sun.
• Remove spent blooms. Prune back by one-third in winter, removing old and damaged wood. Shorten stems to a healthy bud to promote strong growth.
• Fertilise every Late winter to the end of autumn every 3-4 months. We recommend Harry's Rose Food.
