Description
Chamelaucium uncinatum ‘Meghan’ is an attractive evergreen Australian native shrub producing masses of clear pink, waxy flowers in mid-spring. Its delicate blooms create a beautiful display against the fresh, fine green foliage, bringing colour and texture to garden beds.

With its naturally compact, rounded growth habit, ‘Meghan’ is well suited to native gardens, mixed shrub borders and low-maintenance landscapes. Its abundant flowers make it an attractive choice for mass planting or as a feature amongst other Australian native shrubs.

The colourful blooms also attract native birds and beneficial pollinators, helping support wildlife in the garden throughout the flowering season.

Mature size: approximately 2 metres high × 1.5 metres wide

Flowering time: October to November

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil. ‘Meghan’ tolerates a range of free-draining soil types, although good drainage is particularly important during Melbourne's cooler, wetter months.

Water regularly for the first 9 weeks after planting, adjusting to weather and soil conditions. Once established, plants can tolerate dry periods but will benefit from occasional deep watering during extended hot, dry weather.

Prune by up to one-third after flowering to maintain a compact, rounded shape and encourage healthy new growth. Regular light pruning can also help prevent the plant from becoming woody or leggy.

Apply a slow-release fertiliser suitable for Australian native plants in early spring to support healthy growth and flowering.

‘Meghan’ tolerates light frost, making it suitable for many Melbourne gardens.
