Acer palmatum ‘Skeeter’s Broom’ is a slender, upright Japanese Maple prized for its vibrant foliage and narrow growth habit. This compact, columnar variety is ideal for adding vertical interest and strong colour to smaller gardens, courtyards and layered plantings.

In spring, Skeeter’s Broom emerges with bright red, five-lobed leaves that create an immediate visual impact. As the season progresses, the foliage deepens to rich burgundy tones with subtle green undertones through summer, before transforming again into vivid ruby-red in autumn. This continuous colour shift provides long-lasting seasonal interest.

Its naturally narrow, upright habit makes it particularly useful in tight spaces where width is limited, while still delivering the classic beauty of a Japanese Maple. Best colour performance is typically achieved in cooler climates.
