Mandarin Ponkanomi.
Newly released.
The Ponkanomi produces a HUGE mandarin. sweet, seedless, super easy to peel, and delicious. A Japanese cultivar that has been around since the very early 1970s. This is the first time in Australia that the mandarin that we call Ponkanomi is available to grow in your garden or plot. Grow in the garden or in containers. It will grow up to around 3 metres it’s a bountiful tree when of an age to hold fruit.
Care
• Plant in a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained soil
• Water regularly during dry periods, especially when fruiting
• Fertilise with a citrus-specific fertiliser in spring and late summer
• Prune in late winter to maintain shape and remove dead or crossing branches
• Protect young trees from frost; established trees tolerate light frosts
• Mulch to retain moisture, keeping mulch away from the trunk
