Clematis Sen No Kaze - 20cm Pot

Clematis ‘Sen-no-Kaze’ is an elegant Japanese-bred climber producing large, creamy white flowers with subtle pale green undertones. The delicate, star-like blooms can reach approximately 10 to 15cm across and have a subtle fragrance, giving the flowers a particularly refined appearance.

Flowering from late spring into early summer, ‘Sen-no-Kaze’ may also produce a second, lighter flush later in the season. Growing approximately 2 to 3 metres tall, it is a manageable climber for training over trellises, fences and other garden supports.

‘Sen-no-Kaze’ belongs to Clematis Pruning Group 2, meaning it flowers on both old and new growth. This is important when pruning, as cutting the plant back hard in winter can remove the stems carrying the first flowers of the season.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in sun to part shade in moist, well-drained soil. Some protection from the hottest afternoon sun can be beneficial. Keep the root zone cool and evenly moist, particularly during warmer weather, while avoiding waterlogged conditions.

As a Group 2 Clematis, prune lightly rather than cutting the entire plant back hard. In late winter to early spring, remove dead or weak growth and trim healthy stems back to strong buds. After the first flowering flush, lightly prune or tidy stems as required to encourage fresh growth and the possibility of further flowers later in the season.
Provide a trellis, fence or other suitable structure for the stems to climb through.
