Acer Chantilly Lace - 40cm Pot

Acer palmatum dissectum ‘Chantilly Lace’ is a beautiful weeping Japanese Maple grown for its finely divided lace-like foliage and ever-changing seasonal colour. This slow-growing ornamental tree forms a graceful cascading shape, making it an outstanding feature for courtyards, Japanese-inspired gardens and smaller landscapes where its delicate foliage can be appreciated up close.

In spring, fresh growth emerges green creating a striking display against the finely textured branching structure. As the season progresses, the foliage softens into copper-green tones, with leaf colour influenced by sunlight levels. Plants grown in sunnier positions tend to develop richer red colouring, while those in more sheltered locations often display more green through the growing season. In autumn, the foliage transforms again into brilliant shades of scarlet red and deep burgundy, providing a spectacular seasonal finale.

‘Chantilly Lace’ develops a naturally weeping habit with finely dissected leaves that create a soft, elegant appearance. Its compact size makes it ideal for feature planting, large containers and garden beds where space is limited. The cascading form pairs beautifully with rocks, water features, ornamental grasses and shade-loving plants, bringing texture and colour to the garden throughout the year.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant Acer ‘Chantilly Lace’ in a sheltered position with morning sun or filtered light. Some sun will enhance red foliage tones, while protection from harsh afternoon heat will help prevent leaf scorch.

Prefers cool, deep, moisture-retentive soil enriched with organic matter and good drainage.

Water regularly during establishment and maintain consistent moisture through summer, particularly during hot or dry weather.

Apply a slow-release fertiliser suitable for Japanese maples or deciduous trees in early spring.
