Banksia Little Pal - 14cm Pot

Banksia ‘Little Pal’ (Banksia paludosa) is a compact, low-growing Australian native shrub valued for its dense habit, long flowering season and strong wildlife appeal. This dwarf form produces bright yellow flower spikes from autumn through winter, providing a valuable nectar source for honeyeaters, bees and other pollinators when food is scarce.

Naturally forming a tight, mounded shape, Little Pal offers excellent ground-level coverage and shelter for small garden creatures like lizards. Its dense foliage makes it ideal for borders, groundcover, low hedging or container planting, while also helping to suppress weeds in garden beds.

With its hardy nature and minimal maintenance needs, this banksia is a reliable choice for a wide range of garden styles.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun to light shade in well-drained soil. Little Pal is adaptable to a variety of soil types, including sandy, loamy and clay loams, provided drainage is good. It is both drought tolerant and frost tolerant once established.

Water regularly during establishment, then reduce. Apply mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds. Light pruning after flowering will encourage an even denser, more compact shape.

Banksias are sensitive to phosphorus, so use a low-phosphorus native fertiliser when feeding.
