Dwarf Arnold Blood Orange
Botanical Name: Citrus sinensis Arnold Blood
The Arnold Blood Orange is an, evergreen citrus tree that produces small to medium-sized fruit with distinctive blood-red, streaked flesh. Discovered by Mike Arnold in South Australia, this variety offers a sweet, tangy flavour with subtle berry notes. Its glossy green foliage and fragrant white blossoms add ornamental value year-round.
Grafted onto dwarfing rootstock, this plant will only get to 1-2m tall roughly.
• Produces small to medium-sized, sweet, juicy fruit with few seeds
• Fragrant white flowers and glossy green foliage
• Self-pollinating with fruiting from June to October
Care
• Plant in a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained soil
• Water regularly during dry periods, especially when fruiting
• Fertilise with a citrus-specific fertiliser in spring and late summer
• Prune in late winter to maintain shape and remove dead or crossing branches
• Protect young trees from frost; established trees tolerate light frosts
• Mulch to retain moisture, keeping mulch away from the trunk
