Boronia Megastigma Lutea Yellow - 14cm Pot

Boronia megastigma ‘Lutea’ or Yellow Boronia is a beautiful form of the much-loved Brown Boronia, producing masses of highly fragrant, golden-yellow bell-shaped flowers in spring. Its foliage is also aromatic, adding another layer of fragrance and sensory interest to this compact Australian native shrub.

The wonderful perfume makes ‘Lutea’ particularly rewarding when grown near entrances, courtyards or outdoor living areas where the scent can be appreciated. It can also be planted in groups for a more impressive display of both colour and fragrance.

Like other forms of Boronia megastigma, not everyone is able to detect its distinctive floral scent. Some people have a specific inability to smell Boronia fragrance, sometimes referred to as Boronia anosmia.

Yellow Boronia can be particular about its growing conditions and may be relatively short lived, but its beautiful spring flowers and remarkable fragrance make it well worth growing.
