Rose ‘Courtney’s Rose’ is a beautiful, old-fashioned style rose producing large, deeply cupped pink blooms with an elegant quartered rosette form. Beginning as high-pointed yellow buds, the flowers gradually open to reveal layers of delicate petals with a lovely pink sheen.

The generously petalled blooms have a romantic, traditional appearance, making them particularly attractive for cutting and displaying in vases or floral arrangements.

A vigorous, upright-growing rose, ‘Courtney’s Rose’ features healthy, glossy green foliage and almost thornless stems. Its strong growth habit makes it a lovely choice for mixed rose beds, informal screening along fences or feature planting in groups of three.

In Australia, this rose is named in honour of Courtney, a cherished friend of the Rose Grower Treloar Roses. It is a tribute to her strength, courage and determination throughout her battle with cancer, and a lasting reminder of the love and hope she inspired in those around her.

Mature size: approximately 1.5 metres high

Care & Growing Tips

Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil, ideally receiving at least six hours of direct sunlight each day.

Water thoroughly after planting and regularly while establishing, particularly during extended periods of hot, dry weather. Apply mulch in spring to help retain soil moisture and suppress weeds, keeping it clear of the base of the plant.

Feed established roses in late August and again after the main flowering flushes to support healthy growth and flowering.

Prune in July, or August in colder and frost-prone areas, removing dead, damaged or crossing branches. Shorten remaining stems to outward-facing buds to encourage strong new growth and maintain an open, balanced shape.

Remove spent flowers throughout the growing season to encourage further blooms. Maintain good airflow around the plant and remove fallen leaves to help reduce the risk of fungal diseases.
