Bush Rose New Papa Meilland - 20cm Pot

Rose ‘New Papa Meilland’ (Meiceazar) is a richly coloured and highly fragrant rose created by Meilland to mark 50 years since the introduction of the famous ‘Papa Meilland®’ rose.

Developed by the great-grandchildren of Antoine Meilland, ‘New Papa Meilland' was bred to offer improved disease resistance and more abundant flowering while retaining the deep colour and powerful fragrance associated with its namesake.

The blooms are a luxurious velvety red, accompanied by an intense and distinctive perfume with notes of geranium, carnation and white peach. Its combination of classic red colouring, strong fragrance and generous flowering makes it an impressive addition to the rose garden.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Water deeply while establishing and during extended dry periods. Feed established roses in late August and again after the main flowering flushes. Mulch in spring to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Deadhead regularly to encourage repeat flowering. Prune in July, or August in colder and frost-prone areas, removing dead, damaged and weak growth and shaping the plant to encourage strong new growth. Remove fallen leaves from around the base and monitor for common rose pests and diseases.
