Callistemon Fluro Burst™ (PBR) is a colourful Australian native shrub producing masses of vibrant fluorescent pink bottlebrush flowers in spring. Its bright blooms create a striking contrast against the dark green foliage, bringing a burst of colour to garden beds and landscapes.

With its naturally compact, bushy growth habit, Fluro Burst™ is an excellent choice for low hedging, mass planting and feature gardens. Its neat form requires very little pruning, making it a practical option for gardeners wanting an attractive, low-maintenance shrub.

The nectar-rich flowers are also highly attractive to bees and native birds, helping bring wildlife into the garden during the flowering season.

Once established, Fluro Burst™ has good drought and frost tolerance, making it a versatile choice for Melbourne gardens and a range of landscape styles.

Mature size: approximately 1–1.5 metres high × 1–1.2 metres wide

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil. Fluro Burst™ adapts to a range of soil types and performs well in sunny garden beds and mixed planting schemes.

Water regularly for the first 8–13 weeks after planting, adjusting to weather and soil conditions. Once established, plants have good drought tolerance but will benefit from occasional deep watering during extended hot, dry periods.

Apply a layer of coarse mulch around the base to help retain soil moisture, regulate soil temperature and suppress weeds. Keep mulch clear of the main stem.

Fluro Burst™ naturally maintains a tidy, compact shape and requires little pruning. If needed, prune every 2 years for a neat hedge or every 3–4 years to maintain a more natural shape. Light pruning after flowering can also encourage denser, bushier growth.

Feed with a slow-release fertiliser suitable for Australian native plants if required.
