Callistemon Little John - 14cm Pot

Callistemon ‘Little John’ is a popular dwarf Bottlebrush with a naturally compact, dense habit and distinctive blue-grey foliage. Deep red bottlebrush flowers appear through spring and summer, attracting nectar-feeding birds, bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects.

While flowering can sometimes be less prolific than other Callistemon varieties, its attractive foliage and neat growth habit provide plenty of year-round garden interest. Its smaller size makes ‘Little John’ particularly useful where a traditional Bottlebrush would grow too large.

Hardy and adaptable, it tolerates a wide range of soil conditions, moderate frost and periods of dry weather once established. It works equally well as a feature shrub, low hedge or repeated planting in larger landscapes.

Mature size: approximately 75cm to 1 metre high × 50cm to 1 metre wide

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun to light shade in well-drained soil.
Water regularly while establishing, after which it will tolerate periods of dry weather.
Lightly prune after flowering or as required to maintain its naturally dense shape.
Feed lightly with a low-phosphorus native fertiliser if required.
