Callistemon Sweet Burst™ is a beautiful semi-compact bottlebrush that produces masses of soft baby pink flowers in spring, bringing a gentle burst of colour to the garden. Its fine-textured foliage and naturally tidy habit make it an excellent feature plant, while the nectar-rich blooms attract bees, butterflies and native birds. Easy to grow and low maintenance, Sweet Burst™ is well suited to Melbourne and south-east Victorian gardens.

Flowering generously throughout spring, the delicate pink bottlebrush flowers create a striking contrast against the fine green foliage. Its naturally rounded form requires very little pruning, making it ideal for gardeners looking for an attractive shrub with minimal maintenance.

Compact and versatile, Sweet Burst™ works equally well as a feature shrub, low hedge, mass planting or specimen in both native and contemporary landscapes.

Mature size: approximately 90cm to 1.2 metres high × 90cm to 1.2 metres wide

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in a full sun to part shade position. Flowering is generally most prolific in full sun.

Adaptable to a wide range of well-drained soil types and performs well in Melbourne's varied garden soils.

Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks while establishing. Once established, Sweet Burst™ is drought tolerant and generally only requires supplementary watering during extended dry periods.

Apply a layer of chunky organic mulch around the base to help retain moisture, suppress weeds and regulate soil temperature, keeping mulch clear of the stem.

Feed in spring with a slow-release fertiliser suitable for Australian native plants if required.

Very little pruning is needed to maintain its natural shape. If desired, lightly prune after flowering every few years to encourage dense, bushy growth, or trim more regularly to maintain a formal low hedge.

Frost tolerant once established and well suited to Melbourne's temperate climate.
