Camellia Japonica Mark Allan Variegated - 20cm Pot

Camellia japonica ‘Mark Alan Variegated’ is a beautiful evergreen shrub prized for its striking red and white variegated flowers and glossy dark green foliage. Flowering from winter through to spring, this elegant camellia provides vibrant colour when the garden needs it most. Its naturally upright, compact habit makes it an excellent choice for feature planting, decorative pots, espalier and evergreen hedging.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in a part shade position or where it receives morning sun and protection from harsh afternoon sun. In Melbourne, a sheltered location protected from strong winds will encourage the best flowering and help prevent leaf scorch.

Prefers fertile, humus-rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soil. If planting into Melbourne's heavier clay soils, improve drainage with compost and organic matter before planting.

Water regularly during establishment and maintain consistent soil moisture during extended dry periods. Once established, regular deep watering through Melbourne's dry summers will encourage healthy growth and prolonged flowering.

Feed with a quality fertiliser formulated for camellias or other acid-loving plants in spring after flowering and again in mid to late summer if required.
