Casuarina glauca ‘Cousin It’ is a unique, low-growing Australian native groundcover prized for its cascading, fine-textured foliage and dense, spreading habit. This Standard takes all the weeping habit and makes it into a stunning feature tree form.
Hardy and adaptable, this variety tolerates coastal conditions, light frost and poor soils, making it a reliable option for a wide range of environments.
Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil. Cousin It is highly adaptable and will tolerate a range of soil types, including poorer soils, provided drainage is good. Avoid waterlogged conditions.
Water regularly while establishing, then reduce, as it becomes drought tolerant once mature. Supplementary watering during extended dry periods will support best performance.
Prune lightly in late winter or early spring if needed to control spread or maintain shape. Apply a native fertiliser in spring if growth appears slow.
