Cercis chinensis ‘Avondale’ is a stunning ornamental tree prized for its spectacular spring flowering and elegant form. Before the foliage appears, masses of vibrant pink to magenta flowers burst directly from the bare branches, creating a truly eye-catching display.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun to part shade in fertile, well-drained soil. Flowering is more prolific in sunnier positions, though some protection from harsh afternoon sun is beneficial in warmer climates.

Water regularly while establishing, then reduce, as it becomes moderately drought tolerant once mature. Avoid overwatering.

Prune in late winter or early spring to remove any dead, damaged or crossing branches and maintain shape.

Apply a general fertiliser after pruning to support healthy growth.
