Cercis chinensis ‘Faerie Queen’ is a beautiful, compact ornamental tree known for its vibrant magenta flowers that appear on bare branches in early spring. This striking display creates a dramatic effect before the fresh heart-shaped green leaves emerge.

Through the seasons, Faerie Queen continues to impress, its foliage provides a soft green canopy in summer before turning warm golden tones in autumn, revealing elegant brown-grey stems in winter.

With its naturally multi-stemmed form and compact size, this variety is perfect for smaller gardens, courtyards and feature planting, delivering year-round interest without taking up too much space.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun to part shade in fertile, well-drained soil. Flowering is best in sunnier positions, though some protection from harsh afternoon sun is beneficial in warmer climates.

Water regularly while establishing, then reduce, as it becomes moderately drought tolerant once mature. Avoid overwatering.

Prune in late winter or early spring to remove any dead, damaged or crossing stems and maintain shape.

Apply a general fertiliser after pruning to support healthy growth.
