Citrus Sublime - 20cm Pot

Lime ‘Sublime’ is a compact, dwarf evergreen citrus tree producing full-sized, juicy limes on a naturally small plant. Its rounded fruit has thin, deep green skin and a refreshing citrus flavour, making it ideal for cooking, drinks, marinades and desserts.

With its attractive bright green foliage and virtually thornless growth, ‘Sublime’ is particularly well suited to smaller gardens and container growing. Creamy white, fragrant flowers appear during winter, followed by juicy green limes that can be harvested for use in the kitchen.

Despite its compact size, ‘Sublime’ produces full-sized fruit, making it a practical choice for gardeners who want to grow their own citrus without needing space for a large tree.

Its naturally neat habit makes it an excellent option for pots on patios, balconies and courtyards, as well as sunny positions in garden beds. This versatile variety tolerates a range of growing conditions, although protection from heavy frost is recommended.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. A sunny, sheltered position will encourage healthy growth, flowering and fruit production.

Water regularly while establishing and during extended periods of hot, dry weather. Consistent moisture is particularly important during flowering and fruit development, although citrus should never be left in waterlogged soil.

Feed with a slow-release citrus fertiliser in spring, following the manufacturer's application instructions. Additional feeding may be beneficial during the growing season, particularly for container-grown plants.

Apply mulch around the base to help retain soil moisture and suppress weeds, keeping it clear of the trunk.

Prune lightly as required to maintain its naturally compact shape, removing dead, damaged or crossing branches. Avoid heavy pruning, as this can reduce future fruit production.

When growing in containers, use a quality citrus potting mix and choose a pot with excellent drainage. Container-grown trees will require more frequent watering and feeding than those planted in the ground.

Although ‘Sublime’ tolerates a range of temperatures, protect young plants from frost and cold, exposed winds, particularly during Melbourne winters.
