Clematis Violet Elizabeth - 20cm Pot

Clematis ‘Violet Elizabeth’ is a deciduous climbing Clematis producing large purple-pink flowers approximately 12.5 to 15cm across. Some blooms can be double, adding extra interest and variation to its flowering display.

Flowering from spring through to autumn, it provides an extended season of colour. With a moderate climbing habit reaching around 2.5 to 3 metres, ‘Violet Elizabeth’ is well suited to training over trellises, fences and other garden supports.

‘Violet Elizabeth’ belongs to Clematis Pruning Group 2, meaning it flowers on both old and new growth. Avoid hard pruning in winter, as this can remove stems carrying the first flowers of the season.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in sun to part shade in moist, well-drained soil. Keep the root zone cool and evenly moist during warmer weather, while avoiding waterlogged conditions. Provide a trellis, fence or other suitable structure for the vine to climb.

As a Group 2 Clematis, prune lightly. In late winter to early spring, remove dead or weak growth and trim healthy stems back to strong buds. Light pruning after the first flush of flowers can help encourage fresh growth and further flowering.
