Climbing Rose Lamarque - 20cm Pot

First introduced in 1830, ‘Lamarque’ is a treasured Noisette climbing rose, admired for its beautifully fragrant, fully double blooms and graceful growth habit. Soft creamy white petals surround a delicate lemon-yellow centre, with flowers produced in generous clusters from late spring through to autumn. Its elegant appearance, repeat flowering and exceptional perfume have made it a favourite in cottage and heritage gardens for generations.

The large, romantic blooms are carried on semi-trailing stems that are perfect for training over arches, pergolas, fences and walls. In warmer climates it becomes particularly vigorous, but it also performs well in Melbourne gardens when planted in a sunny, sheltered position. It can be grown either as a substantial climber or allowed to develop into a large, informal shrub.

Its strong fragrance and repeat flowering make ‘Lamarque’ an excellent choice for planting near outdoor entertaining areas or entrances where its perfume can be enjoyed.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.
Water deeply during dry periods, keeping foliage as dry as possible.
Feed with a quality rose fertiliser in late August, then after each main flush of flowers through the growing season.
Apply organic mulch in spring to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Deadhead regularly to encourage repeat flowering and prune annually in July while dormant.
Monitor for common rose pests and diseases during spring.
