Dichondra Silver Falls - 27cm Basket

Dichondra ‘Silver Falls’ is a beautiful trailing foliage plant valued for its soft, silvery leaves and long, cascading stems. Its small, rounded leaves create a flowing, waterfall-like effect, adding texture and contrast to garden beds, hanging baskets and decorative pots.

With its naturally spreading growth habit, ‘Silver Falls’ is particularly attractive when planted along the edges of raised garden beds, retaining walls or containers, where its silver foliage can spill gracefully over the sides.

It also makes an excellent groundcover, forming a low-growing carpet of silver foliage that contrasts beautifully with flowering plants and darker green leaves. Its trailing stems can be arranged around other plants in large pots to create a softer, more layered display.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. A sunny position encourages compact growth and the best silver foliage colour. Good drainage is important, particularly during Melbourne's cooler, wetter months.

Water regularly while establishing, then reduce watering once the plant is settled. Established plants are relatively drought tolerant but benefit from occasional watering during extended periods of hot, dry weather.

When planting in larger containers, the plant can be carefully divided into smaller sections and positioned around the edges of the pot to create an even cascading effect. Ensure each section has sufficient roots to establish successfully.

Trim trailing stems as needed to maintain the desired length and encourage fuller growth. Container-grown plants may require more frequent watering during summer.

In colder areas, protect plants from heavy frost, as prolonged freezing conditions can damage the foliage.
