Elaeocarpus Reticulatus Blueberry Ash White - 33cm Pot

Elaeocarpus reticulatus, commonly known as Blueberry Ash, is an attractive Australian native large shrub or tree with a naturally conical growth habit and year-round ornamental interest.

From spring into summer, masses of delicate white flowers appear amongst the foliage. These are followed by distinctive bright blue, oval-shaped fruits that can remain on the plant from autumn through spring and are attractive to birds. Older leaves also develop brilliant red tones before falling, adding another splash of seasonal colour.

Growing naturally into a substantial tree, Blueberry Ash responds very well to pruning and can be maintained significantly smaller. Its dense growth makes it particularly useful for screening and hedging, while its combination of flowers, colourful fruit and foliage also makes it an excellent feature tree.

Mature size: up to approximately 10 metres high × 5 metres wide, but can be maintained significantly smaller with regular pruning.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil.
Blueberry Ash adapts to a range of soil conditions, including poorer soils, and can tolerate coastal environments and light frost once established.
Water regularly while establishing, then provide supplementary water during extended dry periods.
Prune at any time of year as required to control size and shape.
Apply a general fertiliser in autumn and spring to encourage healthy growth.
