Flower Carpet Rose Gold - 14cm Pot

Rose ‘Flower Carpet Gold’ (PBR) is a beautiful, low-growing groundcover rose producing masses of long-lasting, golden-yellow semi-double flowers. Its cheerful blooms retain their rich colour and attractive form on the plant, creating a bright display throughout much of the growing season.

Part of the popular Flower Carpet® range, ‘Gold’ is particularly valued for its excellent disease resistance, glossy green foliage and easy-care growth habit. The golden flowers appear in abundance against the healthy foliage, with repeat flowering providing colour for much of the year in suitable conditions.

With its naturally low, spreading habit, ‘Flower Carpet Gold’ is an excellent choice for covering larger garden areas, softening the edges of pathways or adding colour amongst other shrubs and perennials.

A reliable, relatively low-maintenance rose, it provides an abundance of flowers without the intensive pruning and ongoing attention often associated with traditional bush roses.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil, ideally receiving at least six hours of direct sunlight each day.

Water thoroughly after planting and regularly while establishing, particularly during extended periods of hot, dry weather. Once established, water deeply as required rather than frequently applying small amounts.

Apply mulch in spring to help retain soil moisture and suppress weeds, keeping it clear of the base of the plant.

Feed established roses in late August and again after the main flowering flushes to encourage healthy growth and continued flowering.

Flower Carpet roses require less pruning than traditional bush roses. In July, or August in colder and frost-prone areas, lightly trim the plant to maintain its shape and encourage fresh growth. Remove any dead, damaged or overcrowded stems as required.

Deadheading is generally unnecessary, as Flower Carpet roses naturally continue flowering with minimal attention.

Although this variety has excellent disease resistance, maintaining good airflow and removing fallen leaves will help keep the plant healthy.
