Hakea Burrendong Beauty - 14cm Pot

Hakea ‘Burrendong Beauty’ is a spectacular Australian native shrub renowned for its striking winter flowers and spreading habit. From autumn through winter, the plant is covered in clusters of deep pink, pincushion-style flowers with contrasting white stamens, creating a bold and eye-catching display when much of the garden is dormant.

Low-growing and naturally spreading, Burrendong Beauty forms a wide, mounded shrub, making it ideal as a feature plant in garden beds, shrubberies or large containers. Its nectar-rich blooms attract birds, bees and pollinators, adding life and movement during the cooler months.

Mature size: approximately 0.5–1.5 metres high × 1.5–3 metres wide

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in well-drained, preferably sandy soil. Hakea ‘Burrendong Beauty’ performs best in low humidity climates and requires excellent drainage for long-term success.

Water regularly while establishing, then reduce, as it becomes drought tolerant once mature. In more humid regions, it is best grown in a large pot where airflow and drainage can be better controlled.

Light pruning after flowering will help maintain a compact shape and encourage healthy new growth.
