Helichrysum Red Jewel - 17cm Pot

Helichrysum ‘Red Jewel’ is a compact, low-growing perennial with beautiful velvety silver-grey foliage that provides year-round colour and texture. In spring, clusters of bright red buds emerge above the foliage before opening into papery pink flowers.

Its neat, dense growth naturally forms a low mound, making ‘Red Jewel’ particularly useful for smaller gardens, rockeries and containers. The combination of silvery foliage, colourful buds and long-lasting flowers also works beautifully through mixed garden borders.

Long flowering and pollinator friendly, it becomes dry tolerant once established and requires relatively little maintenance.

Mature size: approximately 30cm high × 40cm wide

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil.
Good drainage is particularly important, as ‘Red Jewel’ does not tolerate wet feet.
Water while establishing, then provide an occasional deep soak during extended periods of hot, dry weather.
Little pruning is required, although a light trim after the main flowering flush will help maintain its compact shape.
Apply a slow-release fertiliser in spring and autumn and protect from frost.
