Hydrangea Pink Ball - 20cm Pot

Hydrangea ‘Pink Ball’ is a classic deciduous flowering shrub producing large, rounded heads of pink flowers through summer. Its generous blooms sit above lush green foliage, providing plenty of colour through the warmer months.

A natural fit for both formal and cottage-style gardens, ‘Pink Ball’ can be grown in garden beds or containers. Hydrangeas also combine beautifully with other traditional garden favourites such as Camellias, Magnolias and Azaleas, particularly in sheltered, partly shaded areas.

Like other Hydrangea macrophylla varieties, flower colour can be influenced by soil pH and aluminium availability. Maintaining a more neutral to slightly alkaline soil helps ‘Pink Ball’ retain its pink colouring, while strongly acidic conditions may cause flowers to develop mauve, purple or blue tones.

Mature size: approximately 1–2 metres high × 1 metre wide

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in a sheltered position with morning sun, filtered light or part shade, protected from hot afternoon sun and drying winds. Hydrangeas prefer fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Water regularly during warm and dry weather, particularly while flowering.
To help maintain the pink flower colour, avoid aluminium sulphate and other products designed to turn hydrangeas blue. Where the soil is naturally acidic, garden lime can be applied to gradually increase the pH. Testing the soil first is recommended. Aim for approximately pH 6 to 7, rather than making the soil strongly alkaline, as excessive lime can interfere with nutrient availability.
Prune after flowering as required to maintain a neat shape, removing spent flowers and older or weak stems while retaining healthy growth for the following season.
