Hymenosporum Luscious - 20cm Pot

Hymenosporum flavum ‘Lushious’ is a compact, evergreen Australian native shrub valued for its dense, glossy green foliage and naturally rounded growth habit. A dwarf form of the traditional Native Frangipani, ‘Lushious’ provides the attractive foliage and fragrant flowers of the species in a much smaller, more manageable plant.

During summer, sweetly scented white to golden-yellow flowers appear amongst the foliage, adding fragrance and seasonal interest to the garden. Flowering is best in sunnier positions, while plants grown in heavier shade will generally produce fewer blooms.

With its low, spreading habit, ‘Lushious’ is particularly well suited to low hedging, garden borders and mass planting. Its dense foliage also makes it an attractive groundcover for larger garden beds, while its compact size is ideal for decorative pots and courtyard gardens.

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun to shade in well-drained soil. ‘Lushious’ adapts to a range of soil types, including loam and clay loam, provided drainage is adequate.

For the best flowering, choose a position receiving plenty of sunlight. Plants grown in heavier shade will generally maintain their attractive foliage but produce fewer flowers.

Water regularly while establishing and during extended periods of hot, dry weather. Once established, plants generally require less frequent watering.

Apply a slow-release fertiliser suitable for Australian native plants in spring to encourage healthy foliage growth and flowering.

‘Lushious’ naturally maintains a compact, rounded shape and requires very little pruning. Lightly trim as needed to maintain a neat appearance or create a more formal low hedge.
