Lagerstroemia ‘Purple Magic’ PBR, part of The Magic Series®, is a compact, shrub-form crepe myrtle bred for intense colour and reliable garden performance. This variety produces an abundance of rich, dark purple flowers through summer, delivering strong visual impact in a manageable size that suits smaller gardens and garden bed planting.
Unlike traditional crepe myrtles, Purple Magic naturally forms a dense shrub rather than a large tree, making it ideal for use in borders, mass plantings or as a colourful feature in limited spaces. Deadheading spent flowers after the first flush can encourage a second round of blooms in late summer, extending the flowering season.
Bred for improved health, Purple Magic demonstrates strong resistance to powdery mildew, ensuring clean foliage and low-maintenance performance throughout the growing season.
Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun for best flowering and compact growth. Grow in well-drained soil and water regularly while establishing, then reduce once settled. Remove spent flower heads to promote repeat flowering and prune lightly as needed to maintain shape. Apply a general-purpose fertiliser in spring to support healthy growth.

What is your shipping policy?
We ship all* orders via Australia Post using Regular Parcel Post. If you would like to upgrade to Express Post, please contact us for a quote before placing your order.
After placing your order, you will receive a confirmation email. Orders are processed within 1–3 business days before being dispatched. A second email will follow with your Australia Post tracking number.
Orders are shipped Monday to Friday between 9am and 4:30pm. Delivery can take up to 10 business days, depending on your location.
