Lemon Yuzu.
Grown for the highly aromatic peel on its tangerine-sized fruit. It is an upright, thorny, evergreen shrub(if kept compact) or a small tree. Small, white, strongly-scented flowers in spring are followed by fruit with thick, bumpy skin starting bright green, ripening through yellow to orange. A cold tolerant variety of lemon use often in eastern cuisine for its tart citrusy flavor.
Plant in full sun to part shade.
Plant in moist well-draining soil.
Prune back old flowers in late winter to encourage new growth in spring.
Summer watering is encouraged as well as during periods of extended heat.
