Leucadendron Safari Sunset - 14cm Pot

Leucadendron ‘Safari Sunset’ is one of the world's most popular Leucadendron varieties, renowned for its rich deep red bracts and outstanding performance as both a garden plant and cut flower. Flowering from autumn through winter, it provides bold colour when many other plants are at their quietest, creating a dramatic contrast against its deep green evergreen foliage.

Its vigorous growth, strong upright stems and robust root system make it an excellent choice for feature planting, informal screening and large native garden displays. Highly prized by florists for its exceptional vase life, ‘Safari Sunset’ is equally at home in the garden or in fresh and dried floral arrangements.

Drought tolerant once established and well suited to Australian conditions, this hardy evergreen thrives in full sun with excellent drainage.

Care & Growing Tips

Plant in full sun in free-draining, slightly acidic soil.
Water regularly during establishment, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
Once established, water only during extended dry periods.
Feed lightly with a low-phosphorus fertiliser formulated for Proteaceae if required.
Lightly prune after flowering or once the colourful bracts fade to maintain a dense, bushy habit. Avoid cutting into old bare wood.
