Magnolia Burgundy Glow - 25cm Pot

This deciduous magnolia is an improved variety of the ever-popular x soulangeana. It is frost hardy will grow into an attractive upright and spreading small tree. Its dark purplish pink and white flowers are fragrant, large and goblet-shaped, and will open in late Winter/ early Spring. 

Magnolias will make a spectacular feature either planted as a single specimen or in a garden setting, and they blend beautifully with other Winter/Spring flowering plants like Azaleas, Camellias and Hellebores. They have a non-invasive shallow root system that makes them ideal to plant close to the home for Summer shade.
 

• Magnolias prefer moist, fertile and well-drained soil that is slightly acidic.
• A sunny aspect in a protected position is best, though they do tolerate partial shade, and some protection from strong wind will enhance and prolong the flowering season.
•  Protect new growth from slugs and snails.
• An annual application of good quality fertiliser in spring, and mulching and watering during the drier months especially when the plant is establishing itself
