A very popular, frost-hardy deciduous magnolia that will grow slowly into a bushy small to medium-sized shrub. It can be used throughout the garden and can be successfully grown in containers. It produces masses of star-shaped white flowers in late Winter/ early Spring and is often the first of the deciduous Magnolias to start flowering.
Deciduous Magnolias are a spectacular feature plant and look fantastic planted as a single specimen or in a garden setting. They have a non-invasive shallow root system that makes them ideal to plant close to the home for summer shade. They blend beautifully with other winter/spring traditional flowering favourites such as Azaleas, Camellias and Hellebores.

When planting select a sunny position that is protected from strong winds.
In ideal conditions, it can grow to H3m x W1.2-1.5m.
Magnolias prefer moist, fertile and well-drained soil that is slightly acidic.
An annual application of good quality fertiliser in spring, and mulching and watering during the drier months especially when the plant is establishing itself
