Ground Hug™ Myoporum is a low-growing, fast-spreading native groundcover designed for modern landscapes where coverage, durability and low maintenance are essential. With its dense, mat-forming habit, it quickly creates a living carpet that helps suppress weeds and stabilise soil, making it a standout solution for large or challenging areas.

Reaching only a very low height while spreading extensively, Ground Hug™ is ideal for maintaining clear sightlines along pathways and roadsides, while still delivering excellent ground coverage.

In spring and summer, it produces small white flowers, followed by decorative berries (note: berries are edible, but foliage is toxic if ingested).

Mature size: approximately 10–20cm high × 4+ metres wide

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun in well-drained to moderately moist soil. Ground Hug™ Myoporum is highly adaptable and tolerates a wide range of soil types, including heavier soils and occasional moisture.

Water regularly during the first 8–13 weeks to establish, then reduce, as it becomes highly drought tolerant once mature. It is also tolerant of frost (to approx. -5°C), coastal conditions and varying soil pH levels.

Maintenance is minimal, an annual edge prune will help keep it tidy. Avoid pruning during extreme heat or cold, and rejuvenate with a harder prune every 4–5 years if required.

Ideal for
– Groundcover and large-scale planting
– Roadsides and pathway edging
– Slopes and erosion control
– Rain gardens and difficult sites
– Covering unsightly areas
