Philotheca Myoporoides - 20cm Pot

Philotheca myoporoides, also known as Wax Flower, is a hardy Australian native shrub with a naturally rounded, evergreen habit and aromatic, leathery foliage. In spring, masses of pink buds open to white, waxy star-shaped flowers, creating an impressive display that can almost completely cover the shrub.

Growing to around 2 metres high and wide, Wax Flower makes an attractive feature shrub and is particularly useful in native, coastal and mixed shrub plantings. Its fragrant foliage adds another layer of interest to the garden throughout the year.

Hardy and adaptable, it performs particularly well in dappled shade, while also tolerating full sun, extended dry periods and light frost once established.

Mature size: approximately 2 metres high × 2 metres wide

Plant in dappled shade for best results, although it will tolerate full sun.
Choose a well-drained position and avoid wet or boggy sites.
Water regularly while establishing, after which it will tolerate extended dry periods.
Philotheca responds well to pruning and can be lightly trimmed or pruned more heavily when required to maintain its size and shape.
