Philotheca Winter Rouge - 20cm Pot

Philotheca ‘Winter Rouge’ is a hardy, compact Australian native shrub with bright green aromatic foliage and a beautiful display of flowers through the cooler months. Masses of rich pink buds appear from late winter before opening to delicate white, star-shaped flowers, with flowering often continuing through to the end of spring.

Its fragrant foliage releases a pleasant aroma when brushed against, making ‘Winter Rouge’ particularly rewarding when planted alongside paths and entrances. The flowers can also be picked for arrangements, while its naturally compact growth makes it equally useful as a feature shrub, border plant or specimen in a large decorative pot.

Adaptable and relatively low maintenance, ‘Winter Rouge’ performs particularly well in partly shaded positions and becomes reasonably tolerant of dry periods and moderate frost once established.

Mature size: approximately 80cm to 1 metre high × 80cm to 1 metre wide

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in part shade to light shade in well-drained soil, although it will tolerate some sun.
Water regularly while establishing, then provide supplementary water during extended dry periods.
Prune back by approximately 20 to 30% after flowering to encourage dense, compact growth.
Feed lightly with a low-phosphorus native fertiliser if required.
