Scaevola Aussie Salute - 14cm Pot

Scaevola aemula ‘Aussie Salute’ is a vigorous Australian native perennial known for its masses of blue to purple fan-shaped flowers and attractive, spreading growth habit. Flowering throughout spring and summer, it provides months of colour in garden beds, borders and containers.

Unlike many other varieties of Scaevola aemula, ‘Aussie Salute’ has a more upright, mounding habit, creating a fuller appearance while still spreading to cover a generous area. Its dense evergreen foliage provides an attractive backdrop to the colourful flowers.

Fast growing and easy to maintain, this short-lived perennial is particularly well suited to sunny garden beds, coastal gardens and decorative pots. Its long flowering period makes it an excellent choice for adding colour to courtyards, poolside plantings and mixed garden borders.

Mature size: approximately 20–50cm high × 1–2 metres wide

Care & Growing Tips
Plant in full sun to light shade in well-drained soil. ‘Aussie Salute’ performs particularly well in sandy or sandy loam soils and is suitable for container growing using a quality, free-draining potting mix.

Water regularly during establishment to encourage strong, healthy growth. Once established, maintain moderate watering during the warmer months, particularly for plants grown in pots.

Apply a slow-release fertiliser suitable for Australian native plants during the warmer months to support healthy growth and continued flowering. Water thoroughly after fertilising to help prevent leaf or root burn.

Lightly trim after a heavy flowering period or whenever plants begin to look untidy. This helps maintain a compact, bushy shape and encourages fresh growth.

‘Aussie Salute’ tolerates light frost but may benefit from protection during particularly cold weather. As a relatively short-lived perennial, plants may eventually need replacing to maintain a full, colourful display.
